Top 5 Teams, Central PA (Number 2)

Are you getting excited to find out who is number one on this list?  Any guesses?  These teams are being judged (by me) based on their ability to win as well as their atmosphere at the games. Just a quick recap.

5. Central Penn Piranha – the winning-est minor league football team
4. Harrisburg Horizon – they’ve won multiple titles since 2002
3. Harrisburg City Islanders – 2007 champs and great atmosphere

The top two teams are recent champions and have state-of-the-art minor league stadiums.  The #2 slot was a tough call, but…

2. York Revolution

I attended one of the games in the playoff series last year and it was electric.  Towel-waving, cheering on the home team in York.  I also took my entire family with me and my 3 year old and 2 year old sons really had a nice time.  We got to watch some playoff baseball and the stadium is probably the most family-friendly in the area.

I like that the playground in the outfield still allows parents to be able to see the game while the kids play.  York also won the championship last year, which is another reason they come in at number two on the list.  Sovereign Bank stadium is a beautiful minor league park and the Revolution are fun to watch play ball.  Brooks Robinson plaza reminds you of Camden Yards, too, and I have a special place in my heart for the Orioles connection to York baseball.  Visit them on their web site if  you want to learn more about the Revolution.

Stay tuned tomorrow to find out who is number 1 on my list and some honorable mentions.
